4 THINGS YOU SHOULD NEVER FORGET

THE SECRETS TO LIVING A FULFILLED LIFE

"It's not the years in your life that counts, it's the life in your years that counts." Abraham Lincoln

Living a fulfilled life is characterized by having a clear sense of purpose, building the right set of relationships, and striving to achieve your goals in life. It comes at a cost. It requires that you hold certain values high enough and that you are constantly aware of the role you have to play. That includes never forgetting these four (4) Things.

1. YOU ARE THE MAIN CHARACTER OF YOUR OWN STORY.

Life is a narrative, a story woven through the threads of time and experiences. In this grand tale, you are the protagonist, the hero, and sometimes the anti-hero. Whether you like to admit it or not, you are the main character of your own story. Every other person are supporting cast.

In every great narrative, the protagonist is the character around whom the story revolves. Similarly, in your life, you are the focal point. Your dreams, goals, and desires are the driving force behind the plot. Embracing your identity as the protagonist means recognizing the significance of your own story and what you represent in it.

A lot of people forget this principal factor. They give the power and control of their lives to someone or something else. They allow their Family, Friends, relationships, and every other unforeseen circumstance to dictate the outcome of their lives.

PLAYING THE BLAME GAME....

"My girlfriend was the reason I lost my job". "My parents are the reason I'm a drug addict". " My business failed because there was no capital." These are some of the excuses you'll get from people who are elites in playing the blame game. They all have clever reasons for why things are not going great in their lives. When bad things happen, they blame their friends, family, relations, the government, money, weather, Economy, etc. When you flip the coin, you'll never find them attributing their success to other factors. It's always, "I worked hard", " I did this..." or "I did that...". It's always "I's" when they win and " them" when they lose.

YOUR EXCUSES ARE VALID REASONS FOR BAD RESULTS...

Understanding your role as the main character of your story gives you a sense of responsibility for your life. It enables you to take proper steps and actions that will produce better outcomes for your life. Your destiny is in your hands, you become what you choose.

2. IF YOU FOLLOW OTHER PEOPLE'S MAPS,

YOU WILL END UP ON THE WRONG DESTINATION.

The journey of life, like any other journey, requires navigation. Trying to follow other people's map for your life will only end up in frustration.

It's natural to seek direction, but what happens when we rely too heavily on the maps of others?

THE ALLURE OF FOLLOWING OTHERS

The allure of following others is undeniable. It provides us with a sense of security and belonging. After all, if someone else has successfully traversed a particular path, why not follow in their footsteps? Conformity can be comforting. It's a well-trodden road, and there's a certain safety in numbers.

Society often encourages us to conform to predefined paths: go to school, get a degree, find a stable job, get married, have children, and so on. These societal expectations can exert immense pressure on individuals to follow the prescribed route, and in doing so, they may abandon their aspirations and dreams.

THE PITFALLS OF BLINDLY FOLLOWING

Blindly following someone else's map can lead to a deep sense of unfulfillment. Imagine you've pursued a career because your parents or peers thought it was the "right" choice. Years pass, and you find yourself in a job you dislike, longing for a different path. This is a common scenario when we relinquish control of our journey.

Regret often accompanies such choices. We wonder what might have been if we had forged our path instead of being guided by others' expectations. Our desires and passions may have been neglected in favor of conformity.

It's essential to remember that the map that worked for one person may not work for another. Every individual is unique, with distinct talents, dreams, and values. Blindly following someone else's map means sacrificing the opportunity to discover and embrace one's individuality.

WHO ARE YOU?

The power of self-discovery.

Self-discovery is a vital aspect of life's journey. It involves uncovering your values, passions, and dreams. By embarking on a voyage of self-discovery, you create a map uniquely tailored to your aspirations.

When you follow your map, you're more likely to experience fulfillment and happiness. You're pursuing something that genuinely matters to you, rather than simply conforming to external pressures. The process of self-discovery can be challenging, but it's ultimately rewarding because it leads to a more authentic and meaningful life.

THE ROLE OF MENTORSHIP

Following your path does not give you the license to look down on mentorship. Mentorship involves learning from someone who has already walked a similar path. A mentor can provide valuable guidance, share insights, and offer support.

However, choosing the right mentor is crucial. Your mentor should align with your values and goals. They should encourage you to think independently and make your own decisions. A good mentor doesn't impose their map upon you but helps you develop your own.

Don't try to be like me. Try to your path and follow it to the end.

 3. DON'T PUT ROCK ON YOUR OWN PATH.

The troubles of life are not going anywhere. If you're a Nigerian, life is already beating you 1-0. Making the journey harder by sabotaging yourself is how you put rocks on your path.

Metaphorically speaking, these rocks represent the self-destructive behaviors and thoughts that hinder our progress and prevent us from reaching our goals.

FEAR OF FAILURE

The biggest Self Sabotaging Machine

One of the primary causes of self-sabotage is the fear of failure. Many people are so afraid of failing that they avoid taking risks or pursuing their goals altogether. They convince themselves that they will fail anyway, so why bother trying? This mindset becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

From fear stems other self-sabotaging behaviors like, low self-esteem, procrastination, Negative Self talk, Self Isolation, Toxic relationships, etc.

The truth is that, until you give yourself the opportunity to win, you won't know the true taste of success. If all you do is continue to set up yourself for failure. Failure will continue to be your order of the day.

Avoid all your sabotaging habits. Stop drinking, stop smoking, Stop womanizing, Stop doing drugs. And watch your life progress.

 4. DON'T LET YOUR BACKGROUND PUT YOUR BACK TO THE GROUND.

How long do you want to keep blaming your village people for your failures?

You're not the only one with a witch in the family. You're not the only one whose stepmother is evil and does not want your progress. Everybody has his/her own village people to deal with.

Take responsibility for your life and do what is required to become successful. Remember, if you don't come from a rich family, a rich family must come from you.

While our background plays a crucial role in shaping who we are, it should never be the reason for us to give up on our dreams and aspirations.

If you have friends, family, parents, or community that do not support your dreams and visuals move on and move forward. Don't allow the usual story to continue.

You are now the author of your own fate and the captain of your ship.

Your story will only end the way you tell it. So wake up and start making something great out of your life.
